Over-the-Range Microwave

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Power drill
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Measuring tape
  • Level
  • Stud finder
  • Pencil

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location above your range with proper ventilation and clearance requirements.
  2. Remove Old Unit: If replacing an existing microwave, disconnect power and remove the old unit carefully.
  3. Prepare Mounting Area: Locate and mark wall studs. Ensure proper electrical outlet is available (dedicated 20-amp circuit recommended).
  4. Install Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate to the wall studs using provided hardware.
  5. Prepare Ventilation: Determine ventilation type (exhaust, recirculating, or external) and prepare ductwork if needed.
  6. Mount Microwave: With assistance, lift microwave onto mounting plate and secure with mounting bolts.
  7. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 120V, 60Hz, AC outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
  8. Test Operation: Test all functions including microwave cooking, exhaust fan, and lighting.
Warning: All installations must be performed by a qualified installer to ensure proper operation and maintain warranty coverage.
